DISCLAIMER
Disclaimer
Effective Date: August 5, 2026
This Disclaimer applies to CJAJJ.com and any related pages, member portals, instructional materials, videos, articles, forms, scheduling tools, and online services operated by CJ American Jiu Jitsu (“CJAJJ,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) (collectively, the “Website”).
By accessing or using the Website, you acknowledge and agree to this Disclaimer. This Disclaimer should be read together with our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and any applicable membership agreement, participant agreement, assumption-of-risk agreement, waiver and release of liability, media release, or other agreement.
1. General Information
The Website provides general information about CJAJJ, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, grappling, martial arts, fitness, classes, private lessons, memberships, events, schedules, and related subjects. Website content is provided for general educational, informational, promotional, and administrative purposes only.
Although we make reasonable efforts to provide useful and accurate information, Website content should not be treated as professional medical advice, individualized martial arts instruction, a guarantee of safety, or a promise of any particular result.
You are responsible for evaluating whether information, instruction, training, products, services, or activities are appropriate for your individual circumstances.
2. Martial Arts and Physical-Activity Risks
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, grappling, wrestling, martial arts, strength training, conditioning, and related activities involve strenuous physical activity, close physical contact, throws, takedowns, joint locks, chokes, pins, falls, collisions, and other movements capable of causing injury.
Potential injuries may include bruises, cuts, sprains, strains, fractures, dislocations, joint damage, concussions, loss of consciousness, illness, infection, permanent disability, paralysis, and death. Injuries may result from another participant’s conduct, equipment, training surfaces, facilities, instruction, supervision, physical condition, accidental contact, improper technique, or the inherent nature of the activity.
No martial arts program, instructor, facility, training method, safety rule, or protective measure can eliminate every risk. References to safety, proper technique, controlled training, or injury prevention do not mean that an activity is risk-free or that an injury cannot occur.
Accessing the Website, watching an instructional video, creating an account, purchasing a service, or scheduling a lesson does not by itself authorize participation in CJAJJ training. Before participating, each student or visitor must satisfy CJAJJ’s current eligibility and safety requirements and complete any required participant agreement, informed-consent form, assumption-of-risk agreement, or waiver and release of liability.
This Disclaimer does not replace CJAJJ’s separately signed participation waiver or other training agreement.
3. Instructional Videos and Technique Demonstrations
Videos, photographs, articles, lesson descriptions, demonstrations, and other instructional materials available through the Website are intended to supplement qualified instruction. They are not a substitute for supervised, in-person training with a competent instructor and a consenting training partner.
Martial arts techniques may be dangerous when performed incorrectly, forcefully, without supervision, against an unwilling person, or in circumstances for which the technique was not intended. Differences in age, size, experience, health, mobility, equipment, training environment, and competition rules may substantially affect whether a technique is appropriate.
Do not attempt a technique that you do not understand or cannot perform safely. Training partners should communicate, exercise appropriate control, respect submissions, and stop immediately when a person taps, verbally submits, loses consciousness, appears injured, or asks to stop.
CJAJJ does not guarantee that every technique shown on the Website will be appropriate, effective, lawful, or permitted under every academy’s rules, competition ruleset, self-defense situation, or other circumstance. Viewers are responsible for obtaining qualified supervision and complying with applicable laws, rules, and safety requirements.
4. No Medical or Healthcare Advice
CJAJJ is not a healthcare provider. Nothing on the Website constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, physical therapy, rehabilitation, nutritional counseling, mental-health treatment, or a determination that any person is medically fit to participate.
General discussions of exercise, conditioning, weight management, recovery, injury prevention, mobility, nutrition, or health are provided for informational purposes only. They are not individualized recommendations and should not be used to diagnose or treat a condition, replace professional medical care, or disregard advice from a qualified healthcare professional.
Consult an appropriate healthcare professional before beginning or returning to martial arts training, particularly if you have an injury, illness, disability, heart condition, pregnancy, recent surgery, medication-related concern, or other condition that may affect safe participation.
The Website and CJAJJ’s Contact Page are not intended for emergencies. If you believe someone is experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or seek appropriate emergency assistance immediately.
5. No Guarantee of Results
Individual results from martial arts training vary substantially. CJAJJ does not guarantee that any student will:
- Earn a particular belt, stripe, rank, or promotion;
- Become proficient within a particular period;
- Win a match, tournament, championship, or other competition;
- Achieve a particular level of fitness, strength, flexibility, confidence, or self-defense ability;
- Lose weight or experience a particular physical change;
- Avoid injuries;
- Qualify for a team, event, division, or competitive opportunity; or
- Achieve results comparable to another student, instructor, competitor, or testimonial.
Results depend on numerous factors, including attendance, effort, consistency, coaching, prior experience, age, health, physical characteristics, training partners, competition level, and circumstances outside CJAJJ’s control.
Testimonials, reviews, competition results, photographs, videos, and student stories describe individual experiences. They do not establish the results another person should expect. Purchasing a membership, attending classes, taking private lessons, or using instructional content does not guarantee any particular outcome.
6. Rank, Competition, and Ruleset Information
Belt ranks, stripes, promotions, competition divisions, rankings, eligibility standards, and rules may differ among academies, instructors, affiliations, tournament organizers, and governing bodies.
Any competition rules, registration requirements, weight divisions, dates, rankings, or eligibility information displayed or discussed through the Website should be verified directly with the applicable event organizer or governing body before relying on it. CJAJJ is not responsible for a third-party organizer’s rules, decisions, schedule changes, registration errors, cancellations, weigh-in procedures, division changes, or eligibility determinations.
CJAJJ retains discretion over its internal curriculum, attendance standards, evaluations, rank records, and promotion decisions, subject to any applicable affiliation requirements.
7. Accuracy and Availability of Website Information
We make reasonable efforts to keep Website information accurate and current. However, we do not guarantee that every class schedule, instructor listing, price, service description, appointment time, membership detail, attendance record, rank record, event listing, or other item will always be complete, current, or free from error.
Classes, instructors, schedules, prices, services, policies, and availability may change. Displaying a class, lesson, product, service, appointment time, or event does not guarantee that it remains available.
CJAJJ may correct errors, update information, change or cancel activities, or remove Website content without prior notice. Official confirmations, signed agreements, and direct communications from CJAJJ may control over general Website information concerning a specific booking, purchase, membership, or participant.
8. Third-Party Websites, Products, and Services
The Website may contain links to, references to, or embedded content from third parties, including payment processors, scheduling providers, video platforms, social-media services, competition organizers, martial arts organizations, equipment companies, and other businesses.
CJAJJ does not control third-party websites or services and does not guarantee their accuracy, security, availability, products, practices, or content. A link, reference, or integration does not necessarily mean that CJAJJ endorses or guarantees the third party.
CJAJJ is not the manufacturer of third-party martial arts equipment, apparel, supplements, training products, or other goods that may be mentioned or linked through the Website. Questions concerning a product’s design, safety, warnings, ingredients, warranties, or appropriate use should be directed to the manufacturer or seller.
Your use of a third-party website, product, or service is governed by the terms, policies, instructions, and warranties provided by that third party.
9. Affiliate Links, Sponsorships, and Advertising
The Website may contain affiliate links, sponsored content, paid promotions, discount codes, product samples, or other commercial relationships. CJAJJ may receive compensation, commissions, products, services, discounts, or other benefits when a visitor clicks a link, makes a purchase, or interacts with sponsored material.
When a material relationship exists, we will make reasonable efforts to disclose it clearly near the relevant recommendation, link, review, or promotional content. This general Disclaimer is not intended to replace a disclosure that should appear with a particular endorsement or advertisement.
Compensation does not guarantee a positive opinion. Any opinions expressed by CJAJJ are intended to reflect our honest views at the time they are expressed. However, a recommendation is not a guarantee that a product or service will be safe, suitable, effective, or satisfactory for every person.
You are responsible for evaluating products and services before purchasing or using them. The price you pay through an affiliate link will be disclosed by the seller and may or may not differ from prices available through other sources.
10. Testimonials, Reviews, and User Statements
Statements submitted by students, parents, visitors, customers, or other users reflect the views and experiences of the person making the statement. They do not necessarily represent the views of CJAJJ.
CJAJJ may edit a testimonial for length, spelling, grammar, or clarity, but we will not knowingly alter its substantive meaning. We do not guarantee that every statement submitted by a third party is complete, current, or independently verifiable.
CJAJJ does not purchase fake reviews or knowingly present fabricated testimonials. If a testimonialist received compensation, free services, discounts, or another material benefit connected to the testimonial, we will make any disclosure required by applicable law.
11. No Professional Relationship Created Online
Accessing the Website, viewing content, submitting a general inquiry, or communicating through the Contact Page does not by itself create an instructor-student, healthcare-provider, therapist-client, attorney-client, fiduciary, employment, or other professional relationship.
An instructor-student or contractual relationship with CJAJJ begins only when CJAJJ accepts the participant or customer and the applicable registration, payment, waiver, and agreement requirements have been satisfied.
Do not submit confidential medical, legal, financial, or other sensitive information through a general Website form unless the form specifically requests that information for an authorized purpose.
12. Personal Responsibility and Reliance
You are responsible for your decisions concerning training, participation, competition, equipment, health, purchases, and use of Website information.
Before relying on Website content, consider your individual circumstances and seek appropriate professional advice or qualified supervision when necessary. Your use of Website information is voluntary and at your own risk.
No disclaimer can make false or misleading information accurate. Nothing in this Disclaimer is intended to excuse CJAJJ from a responsibility that cannot legally be disclaimed or limited.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Website and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties not expressly stated in a written agreement.
CJAJJ does not warrant that the Website will always be accurate, complete, uninterrupted, secure, error-free, compatible with every device, or free from harmful components. CJAJJ does not warrant that Website content or any linked product or service will produce a particular result.
Any limitation of CJAJJ’s liability arising from use of the Website is governed by the Limitation of Liability section of our Terms of Use and any more specific agreement applicable to the claim. Physical participation in CJAJJ activities is also governed by the participant agreement, assumption-of-risk agreement, waiver and release of liability, or other document signed for that activity.
Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes or limits liability to the extent that applicable law prohibits its exclusion or limitation.
14. Relationship to Other Agreements
This Disclaimer supplements our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and any separately accepted membership agreement, participant agreement, waiver, media release, payment policy, or other agreement.
If this Disclaimer conflicts with a more specific written agreement concerning training participation, injury risk, payment obligations, membership, or another particular service, the more specific agreement will control for that subject.
Our Terms of Use govern questions concerning intellectual property, acceptable use, account access, warranties, liability, dispute resolution, Missouri law, and court venue.
15. Changes to This Disclaimer
We may update this Disclaimer to reflect changes in our Website, services, activities, business practices, or legal obligations. When we make changes, we will post the revised version on the Website and update the Effective Date above.
Your continued use of the Website after an updated Disclaimer takes effect constitutes acknowledgment of the revised Disclaimer.
